1956

Gualtiero Giori presented the first prototype of the very first Simultan. He wanted them to be able to see and understand all the phases necessary for the design and printing of fiduciary papers.

The Engineering Department was established for design of banknote printing facilities.

1965

The joint venture with Thomas De La Rue to formed De La Rue Giori.

The first ever demonstration event at the World Exhibition

Introduction of OptiNota-H, the first Foil Application press dedicated to the banknote industry.

Introduction of NotaScreen, the first rotary Screen printing process dedicated to the banknote industry.

After 50 years of partnership, KBA Group acquires De La Rue Giori to become KBA-GIORI

Introduction of ONE™ security design software. A complete suite of products from digital design through to direct intaglio and offset plate making.

Winner of IACA Best New Currency Product for ONE™ at the Currency Conference in Bangkok, Thailand.

First ever Banknote Horizons event, which is held every 4 years at the Lausanne office.

Sound of Intaglio® technology is a one-of-its-kind patented technology by coverno, a company of Koenig & Bauer AG). It was previously exclusive for forensic intelligence and examinations, and became available for banknote authentication at point of sale (PoS).

KBA-NotaSys becomes Koenig & Bauer Banknote Solutions.

The last entity of the Koenig & Bauer Group to adopt the name change. Part of the Special unit within the group, it is the world leader in security printing, especially banknotes.
